Introducing texture with lighting

Design by Jigsaw Interior Architecture - Mix of clear Liquid Light standard and Large with Matte Bronze metalwork
Texture is an essential part of any designer’s vocabulary, because a scheme without texture is a scheme that will fall flat. An object's physical feeling and visual appearance can add depth and dimension to your room. One of the most important ways to introduce texture into a project is through lighting, illuminating areas within a space and creating drama. It is possible to make a cold sterile room feel vibrant and welcoming just through the use of light.

We have just completed a project with Jigsaw Interior Architecture for a large stairwell atrium in a private presidence. The client commissioned a Multi Drop Ceiling Plate to form a cluster of Liquid Lights in different sizes cascading down the space. These shades are all about texture and surface, the clear rippling glass has a tactile movement and this is reflected throughout the entrance hall with a shattered clear glass banister. The designers have kept a clean sleek aesthetic yet the space is soft and inviting.
